On the 31st, the National Energy Group informed that the first-of-its-kind high dam in the world - the Dagua River Shuangjiangkou Hydropower Station - has successfully put into operation all three units of its first phase. The Shuangjiangkou Hydropower Station, located in Sichuan Province, is a key national energy project. The dam is 315 meters high and is currently the world's tallest dam. The total installed capacity of the power station is 2 million kilowatts, and it is equipped with 4 single-unit generators with a capacity of 500,000 kilowatts each. The total reservoir capacity is 2.9 billion cubic meters. It is a controlling and leading project in the upper reaches of the Dadu River, with functions including flood control, power generation, and water resource allocation. Since the first unit was put into operation in June this year, the construction team has closely adhered to the high-temperature electricity demand of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle. Within two months, they successfully completed the consecutive commissioning of three units, with a total of 500 million kilowatt-hours of clean hydropower being delivered, effectively laying a solid foundation for power supply guarantee during the summer in Sichuan Province and the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle. After all the units of the power station are put into operation, the annual average power generation will be approximately 7.7 billion kilowatt-hours. Each year, it can provide an additional 6.6 billion kilowatt-hours of power generation benefit to the downstream cascade power stations, and will continuously enhance the efficiency of water resource utilization in the Dadu River Basin. |
