The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) together with international partners TotalEnergies, Eni of Italy and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) have made a final investment decision (FID) of 6.2 billion US dollars (22.6 billion dirhams) to advance the Umm Shaif gas field development project in Abu Dhabi, further accelerating the implementation of its global integrated natural gas growth strategy.

The United Arab Emirates has the seventh-largest natural gas reserves in the world. As the global demand for reliable and low-carbon energy continues to grow, ADNOC is continuously unlocking the potential of more local natural gas resources and expanding its LNG business layout to meet the needs of domestic and international customers, while providing energy support for industrial development and the construction of artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure.

Umm Shaif气顶开发项目FID是ADNOC天然气增长战略的又一里程碑。项目将释放超过6亿标准立方英尺/日(scfd)的天然气及伴生天然气液体资源，相当于阿联酋当前日天然气消费量的近10%。这项投资将进一步增强阿联酋能源安全，并巩固其作为全球可靠能源供应国的地位。该项目预计将于2030年投产。

The FID of the Umm Shaif gas field development project marks another milestone in ADNOC's gas growth strategy. The project will release over 600 million standard cubic feet per day (scfd) of natural gas and associated natural gas liquids resources, equivalent to nearly 10% of the current daily natural gas consumption in the United Arab Emirates. This investment will further enhance the energy security of the United Arab Emirates and solidify its position as a reliable global energy supplier. The project is expected to come online in 2030.

The approval of the FID for the Umm Shaif gas field development project further highlights the reputation of the United Arab Emirates as a long-term capital investment destination worldwide. Previously, the Supreme Financial and Economic Affairs Committee (SCFEA) had granted a concession agreement for the Bab gas field development project, which is expected to add 1.5 billion standard cubic feet per day of natural gas and associated natural gas liquids production capacity. At the same time, this project has further advanced ADNOC's global LNG strategic layout. ADNOC has already established a global LNG marketing and trading platform in the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) and plans to achieve a total sales capacity of 47 million tons per year of LNG by 2035.

该FID包括三项大型海上基础设施工程、采购与施工(EPC)合同，总价值51亿美元(188亿迪拉姆)，由ADNOC授予由阿联酋及国际主要承包商组成的联合体实施。项目还包括一项价值3.65亿美元(13亿迪拉姆)的14口井钻井及综合钻井服务计划，将由ADNOC Drilling利用现有三座钻机在18个月内完成。

This FID consists of three large-scale offshore infrastructure projects and procurement and construction (EPC) contracts, with a total value of 5.1 billion US dollars (18.8 billion dirhams). It was awarded by ADNOC to a consortium composed of major UAE and international contractors. The project also includes a 14-well drilling and comprehensive drilling services plan worth 365 million US dollars (1.3 billion dirhams), which will be completed by ADNOC Drilling using its existing three drilling rigs within 18 months.
