The largest coal transportation port in the world, the Port of Newcastle, is going to sell its shares for sale!

据澳洲媒体，麦格理集团(Macquarie)已聘请投行高盛，负责评估其所持有的纽卡斯尔港股权出售事宜，这笔交易的价值可能超过15亿澳元(约人民币71.53亿元)。

According to Australian media, Macquarie Group has hired investment bank Goldman Sachs to assess the sale of its stake in the Newcastle Port. The value of this transaction could exceed 1.5 billion Australian dollars (approximately 7.153 billion yuan).

In 2014, the local government privatized the port, with the equity split equally between an infrastructure fund and China Merchants Group. The fund is now managed by Macquarie Group, while China Merchants Port acquired 50% of the Newcastle Port's equity from China Merchants Group in 2018.

The current operation model of the Newcastle Port is that of a "landlord port". Since 2014, it has held the management rights and land lease rights for 98 years.

纽卡斯尔港共分4个港区，包括21个码头泊位，其中9个为煤炭专用泊位。其设计产能为2.11亿吨，2025年共出口货物1.54亿计费吨，其中煤炭1.49亿计费吨。(计费吨是国际物流和货运行业中用来计算运费的标准单位，核心计费原则是“择大计费”，比较货物的实际重量和实际体积后，取折算后数值较大的一方作为计费依据)

The Port of Newcastle is divided into 4 zones, including 21 berths. Among them, 9 are dedicated coal berths. Its designed capacity is 211 million tons. In 2025, a total of 154 million billing tons of goods were exported, among which 149 million billing tons were coal. (Billing tons are the standard unit used in international logistics and freight industry to calculate freight charges. The core billing principle is "choose the larger one", after comparing the actual weight and volume of the goods, the one with the larger converted value is taken as the billing basis)
