Coal is the "ballast stone" for China's energy security. Xinjiang is one of the "three bases and one channel" designated by the country. The predicted total coal resources in Xinjiang amount to 2.19 trillion tons, accounting for 40.6% of the national total. 哈密煤炭预测资源量5708亿吨，占全国八分之一、新疆三分之一。上半年，哈密三塘湖矿区石头梅一号露天煤矿生产原煤突破1400万吨，销售同比增长46%。

The predicted coal reserves in Hami amount to 570.8 billion tons, accounting for one-eighth of the national total and one-third of that of Xinjiang. In the first half of the year, the No. 1 open-pit coal mine in San Tang Lake area of Hami produced over 14 million tons of raw coal, with sales increasing by 46% year-on-year.

At present, Xinjiang has established two billion-ton coal production bases in Jizhong and Hami. The average production capacity of each well exceeds 550 million tons per year, and the capacity of open-pit coal mines accounts for 70%. 实施煤矿智能化建设三年行动计划。“十四五”期间，全区煤矿智能化建设总投资超百亿元，建成智能煤矿63处，智能化煤炭产能占比97%以上，煤矿本质安全水平持续提升。

A three-year action plan for intelligent coal mine construction has been implemented. 7月28日，位于巴里坤哈萨克自治县三塘湖矿区的石头梅二号煤矿正式开工建设。石头梅二号煤矿是“十五五”时期新疆首个开工建设的特大型煤矿，设计年产原煤800万吨，计划2029年建成投产。

On July 28th, the Stone Mei No.2 Coal Mine, located in the Santanghu mining area of Barikun Kazakh Autonomous County, officially started construction. The Stone Mei No.2 Coal Mine is the first super-large coal mine to be constructed in Xinjiang during the "15th-16th" Five-Year Plan period. It is designed to produce 8 million tons of raw coal annually and is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2029.

“石头梅二号煤矿承担着加快扩充疆煤外运产能的重要使命。项目建成后，将与石头梅一号露天煤矿协同运营，保障国内能源供需平稳，助力区域能源协同发展。”巴里坤哈萨克自治县副县长王红霞表示。

The No. 2 Coal Mine of Shitomai is undertaking the important mission of accelerating the expansion of the capacity for transporting coal out of the region. Once the project is completed, it will operate in conjunction with the No. 1 Open-pit Coal Mine of Shitomai, ensuring the stability of domestic energy supply and demand and facilitating the coordinated development of energy in the region. This was stated by Wang Hongxia, the deputy county head of Bayingolin Kazakh Autonomous County.

当前，疆煤外运已初步形成以兰新铁路为主轴，临哈铁路为北翼、格库铁路为南翼的“一轴两翼多联”铁路通道布局。

At present, the transportation of coal from Xinjiang has initially formed a railway channel layout featuring the Lanzhou-Xinjiang Railway as the main axis, with the Linhahe Railway as the northern wing and the Geku Railway as the southern wing, creating a "one axis, two wings, multiple links" configuration.

我国“十五五”规划纲要明确提出，建设临河至哈密铁路扩能改造等疆煤外运重点项目。临哈铁路全线优化贯通后，货运能力可达2亿吨，将成为疆煤外运重要黄金通道。

The "13th Five-Year Plan" outline of our country clearly states that key projects such as the expansion and renovation of the Lintai-Hami railway for transporting coal from Xinjiang will be constructed.
