On the 22nd and 23rd of this month, two Russian oil-loading ports on the Baltic Sea - Primorsk and Usiglyaz - were attacked by Ukrainian drones. These two ports are located in the northwestern part of Russia's Leningrad Oblast, about 80 kilometers apart. According to the Russian newspaper "Moscow Times", the governor of Leningrad Oblast, Alexander Drozhenko, reported on the 23rd that from the 22nd to the early hours of the 23rd, the Russian air defense system intercepted more than 70 Ukrainian drones flying over the state. The attack caused several fuel storage tanks at the Primorsk Port to catch fire.

According to Reuters, Primorsk Port is the main export terminal for Russian Ural crude oil and high-quality diesel, capable of processing over 1 million barrels of exported oil per day. Usiglyuga Port exports approximately 700,000 barrels of oil per day.

Earlier this month, Russia's oil exports from the largest port in the Black Sea, Novorossiysk, were also affected by drone attacks.

Due to this wave of drone attacks around midnight on the 22nd, the Pulkovo International Airport in St. Petersburg, Russia, suspended flights in and out until the no-fly order was lifted at 9 a.m. local time on the 23rd.
