At a meeting held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the new capital, Esmaat reviewed Egypt's strategy of increasing investment in solar and wind energy, modernizing the national power grid, and accelerating the transition to smart grid technology.

He stated that Egypt has offered numerous investment opportunities in the fields of renewable energy and power infrastructure, and has received support from an expanding international cooperation network and government policies aimed at enhancing the participation of the private sector.

Esmaat added that Egypt is striving to enhance its position as a regional energy hub through power interconnection projects with Sudan, Libya, Jordan and Saudi Arabia, as well as the planned power connection with Greece and Italy. This will support the cross-border trade of clean electricity.
