BERLIN, July 1st - According to reports by German media on the 1st, the German Federal Prosecutor's Office has filed a lawsuit against a Ukrainian man in Hamburg, accusing him of being involved in the planning of the 2022 "Nord Stream" gas pipeline explosion incident. This is the first official prosecution of the suspect by the German investigation authorities regarding this incident.

It is reported that the person being prosecuted is Serhii K. The charges against him include jointly carrying out explosions, engaging in activities that undermine the constitutional order, and damaging building facilities. Additionally, he is suspected of attacking civilian energy infrastructure.

According to the investigation, Sergey K is suspected of leading the group that carried out the sabotage operation and was responsible for the command of the actions on the yacht. The prosecution believes that this gang placed explosive devices on the "North Stream 1" and "North Stream 2" natural gas pipelines near the Bornholm Island in the Baltic Sea in September 2022. Relevant personnel used a sailing boat rented with forged identity documents to transport the explosives to the incident area. The explosive device was detonated on September 26, 2022, causing severe damage to the two pipelines.

谢尔吉·K于2025年8月在意大利被捕，同年11月被引渡至德国，目前被羁押在汉堡。报道称，此案将在汉堡的汉萨高等法院审理，预计将于今年秋季开庭。

Sergei K was arrested in Italy in August 2025 and was extradited to Germany in November of the same year. He is currently being detained in Hamburg. It is reported that this case will be heard at the Hanseatic High Court in Hamburg and is expected to commence in the autumn of this year.

The Nord Stream gas pipeline starts in Russia and runs under the Baltic Sea to Germany. On September 26, 2022, an explosion occurred at the pipeline located in the sea area near Sweden and Denmark, causing a large amount of natural gas to leak. The investigation revealed that three out of the four pipelines had leaks, with a total of four leakage points. After the incident, Denmark, Sweden, and Germany respectively initiated investigations. In February 2024, Sweden and Denmark successively announced the conclusion of their investigations, while Germany's investigation is still ongoing.
