As of August 10 this year, the first phase of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project has transferred over 90 billion cubic meters of water. Among them, the first phase of the Middle Route Project transferred over 80.05 billion cubic meters, and the first phase of the East Route Project transferred over 9.95 billion cubic meters.

山东青岛，官路水库尾工建设正稳步推进。作为南水北调东线重要调蓄工程，水库建成后将与棘洪滩水库形成长江水与黄河水的联调联供，提升青岛市的水资源安全保障能力。

In Qingdao, Shandong Province, the tail-end construction of Guanlu Reservoir is progressing smoothly. As an important storage project of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project's eastern route, the completion of this reservoir will enable it to work in conjunction with Jilongtan Reservoir to jointly regulate and supply water from the Yangtze River and the Yellow River, thereby enhancing the water resource security capabilities of Qingdao City.

河北黑龙港地区，数百万群众彻底告别了高氟水、苦咸水的困扰;首都北京，南水有效降低百姓生活用水“硬度”，提升饮水质量……南水北调东中线一期工程通水以来，受水区群众实现了从“喝上水”到“喝好水”的转变。

In the Hebei region of Heilonggang, millions of people have completely rid themselves of the problems caused by high fluoride water and brackish water. In the capital Beijing, the south water has effectively reduced the "hardness" of people's daily drinking water and improved the quality of drinking water... Since the first phase of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project's eastern and central routes was put into operation, the people in the water-receiving areas have achieved a transformation from "having water to drinking good water".

一组数据更能体现成效。南水北调东中线一期工程为沿线48座大中城市1.95亿人口提供稳定优质水源。自南水北调启动以来，东线一期工程受水区城市供水保证率从不足80%跃升至97%;中线一期工程水质稳定达到Ⅱ类及以上标准，供水覆盖27座大中城市，受益人口近1.18亿。

A set of data can better reflect the effectiveness. The first phase of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project's eastern and central routes have provided stable and high-quality water sources for 48 large and medium-sized cities along the route, serving 195 million people. Since the start of the South-to-North Water Diversion project, the water supply guarantee rate in the areas benefiting from the eastern route has increased from less than 80% to 97%; the water quality of the eastern route's first phase has remained at the level of Class II or above, covering 27 large and medium-sized cities and benefiting nearly 118 million people.

河北邢台有着“太行泉城”的美誉。自20世纪80年代起，因为城市扩张和地下水超采，邢台多处泉眼相继干涸。

Xingtai City in Hebei Province is known as the "Taihang Spring City". Since the 1980s, due to urban expansion and excessive extraction of groundwater, many springs in Xingtai have dried up one after another.

而今，得益于中线工程生态补水，自2021年起，邢台“百泉复涌”，河流重生，湿地中白鹭嬉戏翻飞，整座城市生机盎然。当前，中线一期工程累计向河北邢台市供水33亿立方米，其中生态补水12.92亿立方米。

Now, thanks to the ecological water replenishment of the Middle Route Project, since 2021, "hundreds of springs have reappeared" in Xingtai, the river has been reborn, and white herons are playing and flying in the wetlands, making the entire city full of vitality. Currently, the first phase of the Middle Route Project has supplied a total of 3.3 billion cubic meters of water to Xingtai City, Hebei Province, among which 1.292 billion cubic meters were used for ecological water replenishment.

在华北平原，受益于南水北调，永定河、滹沱河等10余条断流多年的河流恢复全线通水，白洋淀水生态得到恢复，青头潜鸭等珍贵野生鸟类相继出现。

In the North China Plain, thanks to the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, over 10 rivers that had been dry for many years, such as the Yongding River and the Huotuo River, have resumed full water flow. The water ecology of Baiyangdian has been restored, and rare wild birds like the blue-winged teal have also appeared successively.

据统计，南水北调东中线一期工程向沿线50余条河流生态补水超131亿立方米，有力改善北方地区水资源条件和水资源承载能力，推动了华北地区河湖生态环境复苏和地下水超采综合治理。

According to statistics, the first phase of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project's eastern and central routes have replenished the ecology of over 50 rivers along the route with more than 13.1 billion cubic meters of water. This has significantly improved the water resources conditions and water resource carrying capacity in the northern region, and promoted the recovery of river and lake ecosystems and the comprehensive control of over-extraction of groundwater in the North China region.

在郑州航空港经济综合实验区，中线一期工程有力保障了比亚迪、郑州机场等重点企业用水，提升了高科技类企业相关产品品质。在东线，京杭大运河连续多年全线水流贯通，全年通航里程达877公里，航运效益持续发挥。

In Zhengzhou Airport Economic Comprehensive Experimental Zone, the first phase of the Central Route project has effectively ensured the water supply for key enterprises such as BYD and Zhengzhou Airport, and improved the product quality of high-tech enterprises. In the Eastern Route, the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal has been continuously flowing throughout the year for many consecutive years, with a total navigable mileage of 877 kilometers throughout the year, and its shipping benefits have been continuously exerted.

走访了解到，南水北调正在打破北方多地经济发展的用水瓶颈，以优质水资源要素激活区域经济发展潜力，为黄河流域生态保护和高质量发展、京津冀协同发展等区域重大战略提供水资源保障。

隧洞内机械轰鸣，盾构机平稳掘进。湖北省保康县，南水北调后续引江补汉工程施工有序进行。工程将使三峡水库与丹江口水库成功“牵手”，显著提升华北地区供水稳定性。

Inside the tunnel, machinery roared as the shield machine moved steadily forward. In Baokang County, Hubei Province, the subsequent project of the South-to-North Water Diversion and the Supplement of Han River with Water from Jiangling are proceeding in an orderly manner. This project will enable the Three Gorges Reservoir and the Danjiangkou Reservoir to successfully "join hands", significantly enhancing the water supply stability in the North China region.

水利部相关负责人表示，将锚定《国家水网建设规划纲要》相关目标，高质量建设南水北调中线引江补汉工程，积极推动后续工程前期工作。

A relevant official from the Ministry of Water Resources stated that they will adhere to the relevant goals of the "National Water Network Construction Planning Outline", build the South-to-North Water Diversion Project's Central Route to Supplement the Han River project with high quality, and actively promote the preliminary work for subsequent projects.

当前仍处于“七下八上”防汛关键期，发挥工程防洪减灾效益，保障工程安全度汛至关重要。水利部相关负责人在分析研判台风“白海豚”发展态势及影响时表示，要进一步细化实化南水北调中线工程防御工作，确保南水北调中线工程安全、供水安全。

Currently, it is still in the critical period of flood prevention from July to August. It is of utmost importance to leverage the engineering capabilities for flood control and disaster mitigation and ensure the safety of the projects during the flood season. A relevant official from the Ministry of Water Resources stated during an analysis and assessment of the development trend and impact of Typhoon "White Dolphin" that further refinement and implementation of the defense measures for the South-to-North Water Diversion Project's Central Route are necessary to ensure the safety of the project and the safety of water supply.

2026年4月底，中共中央政治局会议指出加强水网、新型电网、算力网、新一代通信网、城市地下管网、物流网等规划建设。在这“六张网”中，水网建设列在首位。

By the end of April 2026, the meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China pointed out that efforts should be made to strengthen the planning and construction of water networks, new power grids, computing power networks, new-generation communication networks, urban underground pipelines, and logistics networks.
