8月30日是俄罗斯矿工节。普京向煤炭行业从业者致以节日祝贺，并肯定他们为增强俄罗斯主权和国防能力所作出的贡献。普京在视频讲话中指出：“煤炭、焦炭、铁矿石及其他自然资源是大自然对俄罗斯的慷慨馈赠，至今仍是国家经济的重要基石。目前，俄罗斯煤炭储量居世界第二位，出口量居第三位，开采量居第六位。尽管煤炭行业当前面临复杂形势，俄罗斯在全球市场上仍保持领先地位。”
