The 2026 African Nuclear Energy Innovation Summit opened in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, on the 19th. Participants at the summit stated that it is necessary to improve the financing mechanism and regulatory framework, strengthen regional coordination, and promote nuclear energy from policy discussions into investable and scalable projects.

本届峰会以“助力非洲未来：将核能愿景转化为可投资的现实”为主题。国际原子能机构总干事格罗西在开幕式上说，能源安全是非洲发展的核心，目前该大陆仍有近6亿人无法获得电力供应。

This summit was themed "Empowering Africa's Future: Transforming Nuclear Energy Vision into Investable Reality". The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Grossi, said at the opening ceremony that energy security is the core of Africa's development, and currently, nearly 600 million people on the continent still lack access to electricity.

核能是解决非洲能源挑战的若干关键方案之一。他指出，非洲多个国家正在推进核能计划，并对小型模块化反应堆表现出日益浓厚的兴趣。

Nuclear energy is one of the key solutions to address the energy challenges in Africa. He pointed out that several African countries are advancing their nuclear energy plans and showing increasing interest in small modular reactors.
