On May 16th, the BH-WISDOM slope radar monitoring system independently developed by the Second Logging Company of Bohai Drilling was activated at a key well site in the Changqing market, issuing a warning of slope instability. This timely reduced the safety risks brought about by continuous rainfall.

In mountain drilling operations, the geological environment of high and steep slopes is extremely complex. Traditional monitoring methods have limitations in terms of real-time performance and accuracy, making it difficult to provide continuous early warnings for the dynamic changes of the slopes. To address this challenge, the company organized its scientific research and technical forces to conduct research and development. They independently developed a portable millimeter-wave slope radar monitoring system, providing technical support for the safety management of well sites in complex terrains.
该系统采用相控阵天线技术,监测精度达亚毫米级,最远监测半径达1公里,单台设备可对数千至上万平方米的边坡进行扫描。同时,系统能够适应雨雾风雪等天气,24小时连续运行,并通过智能分析识别常规形变与滑坡前兆,为现场处置争取时间。
This system employs phased array antenna technology, achieving monitoring accuracy down to sub-millimeter level. The maximum monitoring radius is up to 1 kilometer. A single device can scan slopes ranging from several thousand to tens of thousands of square meters. At the same time, the system can adapt to weather conditions such as rain, fog, and snow. It operates continuously for 24 hours and uses intelligent analysis to identify normal deformation and landslide precursors, thereby providing time for on-site handling.
投入应用以来,该系统已完成15井次现场监测。在长庆、山西煤层气等山区施工区域,系统多次对降雨及施工扰动引发的边坡形变提前预警,并指导现场采取警戒隔离、边坡加固、设备转移等措施。
Since its application, this system has completed 15 on-site monitoring operations. In mountainous construction areas such as those in Changqing and Shanxi coalbed methane regions, the system has repeatedly issued early warnings for slope deformation caused by rainfall and construction disturbances, and guided on-site measures such as setting up warning zones, reinforcing the slopes, and transferring equipment.
