In mid-March, the Shuidanzi Petrochemical Company of China National Petroleum Corporation held the groundbreaking ceremony for the photovoltaic molten salt energy storage demonstration project, marking the full entry of this key green project into the construction phase.
This project covers an area of over 6,000 acres and is the first key project of Dushanzi Petrochemical in implementing the "zero coal burning" strategy. Its aim is to contribute to achieving the "dual carbon" goals.
The project adopts a technical route combining photovoltaic power generation with molten salt energy storage, constructing a complete energy conversion chain of "green electricity heating, molten salt heat storage, and exothermic steam production". It replaces coal-fired boilers with clean energy to provide stable power and steam supply to the downstream production, laying a solid foundation for the green and low-carbon development of the enterprise.
As a demonstration project of "photovoltaics + energy storage + steam turbine" by China National Petroleum Corporation, once the project is completed and put into operation, it will become the core support for Dushanzi Petrochemical to build a zero-carbon heating system that mainly relies on molten salt energy storage and supplements with gas supply.
Currently, Dushanzi Petrochemical is accelerating the construction progress of the project, striving to build a benchmark for clean replacement of coal-fired boilers. It aims to explore a new path for stable production of industrial steam using green electricity in the petrochemical industry. At the same time, it lays a solid foundation for subsequent expansions of molten salt energy storage, renovations of coal-fired boilers, improvement of heating guarantee capabilities under extreme weather conditions, and ensuring the smooth operation of petrochemical facilities.
