August 28th | Goldman Sachs estimates that the total daily export volume from the Gulf region is currently around 15 to 16 million barrels. Although it is still 7 to 8 million barrels lower than the pre-war level, it is 5 to 6 million barrels higher than the low point in March.

Goldman Sachs stated that although these estimates focus on the total flow in the Gulf region, the upwardly revised data suggest that the volume of oil transported through the Strait of Hormuz may be close to the 8 to 10 million barrels per day estimated by US officials.

"The increase in the volume of 'unofficial' border crossings and ship-to-ship transfers by professional carriers indicates that producers and carriers are adapting to the conflict in the Middle East," the report stated. Goldman Sachs continued to believe that in the scenario of ongoing supply disruptions, the price of European natural gas and the price of long-term petroleum product contracts would have greater room for increase than crude oil.
