电加热器加热物料的方法在电路的使用过程中，存在着不同的类型。但由于其获得电热量的形式不同，因此又可分为几种不同的形式。电加热器主要获得热量形式有两种。

 直接加热法是指电流通过受热体本身，利用受热体本身的电阻发热来达到加热目的。它主要用于加热有规律形状的物质，如家用电器、用水本身的电阻加热的热水器等。采用直接电加热的方法，将被加热物的两端接在电路中，用带抽头的变压器或转换器来调节工作电压或工作电流。当水的电阻通过改变电极位置、电极面积大小或水位高低来调节时，外电路中提供的电位差在热水器内部保持不变。值得注意的是，凡用直接电热法加热的物体，其本身必须有一定的电阻值，其本身电阻值过小或过多，都不宜用直接电热法加热。

Direct heating method refers to the situation where the current passes through the heating body itself, and the heating body's own resistance generates heat to achieve the heating purpose. It is mainly used for heating substances with regular shapes, such as household appliances and water heaters that heat water using the resistance of the water itself. By using the direct electric heating method, the two ends of the object to be heated are connected to the circuit, and a transformer or converter with taps is used to adjust the working voltage or current. When the resistance of water is adjusted by changing the electrode position, the size of the electrode area, or the water level, the potential difference provided by the external circuit remains constant inside the water heater. It is worth noting that for any object heated by direct electric heating, it must have a certain resistance value. If the resistance value is too small or too large, direct electric heating method is not suitable for heating.

 间接电加热是电流通过的电路，它不是要加热的物体，而是用另一种特殊材料制成的电热元件。电热元件通过电流产生热量，再利用不同的传热方式(辐射、对流和传导)将热量传递给受热物体。电阻式间接电热加热方式是当今使用较广泛的一种加热方式，主要用于加热和烘干物体。这种间接电加热方法在小至电吹风，大至电阻炉中广泛应用。

Indirect electric heating involves a circuit through which current flows. This circuit is not the object to be heated but rather an electric heating element made of a special material. The electric heating element generates heat through the current and then transfers the heat to the heated object using different heat transfer methods (radiation, convection, and conduction). The resistive indirect electric heating method is a widely used heating method nowadays, mainly for heating and drying objects. This indirect electric heating method is widely applied in everything from small devices like hair dryers to large ones like resistance furnaces.
